Animals!
Australia is one of the places with the greatest variety of animals. They have more than 378 mammal species, 828 bird species, 140 snake species, 4000 fish species, and around 50 types of marine mammal. On the hike we plan to take, you can count on seeing a whole bunch of different cool animals. The two largest predatory animals that Australia has are the dingo and the wild dog. They have a few others, but they are no bigger than your average house cat.
Predator/Prey relationships
When hiking through the forest, you should be on the lookout for the brown snake. This is a very common relationship found in South Australia. The brown snake eats any animal that has a vertebrate such as frogs, lizards, rodents, or other snakes. The brown snake is found along the eastern coast of Australia so you are likely to see this animal there.
Producer/consumer relationships
A producer in Australia is a flowering crab apple tree. This tree's fruit is commonly consumed by any type of bird. It is very common in South Australia, so you are very likely to see this relationship.
